Saint Seraphim of Sarov walking bent over. New Russian Orthodox Icon. Saint Seraphim was beaten by thieves in his forest cell because the thieves heard he had treasure in his cell. The thieves did not realize that Saint Seraphim himself was actually the treasure that everybody was talking about. For the rest of his life Saint Seraphim was bent over due to this attack, but he completely forgave those who beat him.
