Boris Prince

Saint Boris, Prince of Rostov and Passion-Bearer. Russian Orthodox Icon.  He and his younger brother Prince Gleb were murdered at the instigation of their older brother Prince Sviatopolk who was jealous of them and wanted the throne to himself after their father St. Vladimir, Prince of Kiev, reposed in 1015 AD.  Boris and Gleb are called "Passion-bearers' because they did not resist the evil of their older brother and willingly suffered for the betterment of the Kievan land and the people of ancient Rus.
